Walla Walla Wineries : Sapolil Cellars

Named after a Native American integral to building the county’s
first railroad in the 1800’s, Sapolil provides a nice nod to the
history of the Pacific Northwest Region. Their downtown tasting
room, which doubles as a restaurant and music venue, is
dark and moody, mahogany tables warmed by cushy throw pillows
and dim lighting. Though Sapolil doesn’t specialize in tastings,
live music every Friday and Saturday night and the occasional
weekday cinema night make for a worthy visit. The wines
themselves are pleasing and well structured. I could see the
2008 Dwelley Reserve with an Angus burger, or the fruity 2008
Tre Amici with a buttery pasta dish. Go for date night and know
you will find quality wines to complement your dinner order.

  • What our customers say

My Love Affair with Carmenere "This is the one that started it all for me. It was unlike anything I had ever tasted before."

"Reininger Winery was one of the first wineries we visited in Walla Walla. We were welcomed and treated like family. We were very impressed with their dedication to producing wines that are true to varietal and well-matched with food. You definitely could say that an experience such as ours was factored in and influenced our decision to open our restaurants in Walla Walla."

    James Beard nominee '09, '10 and '12

"As wine club members, we have always appreciated the consistency of quality in Reininger wines. Every bottle we have bought is great with food and stands among the best of Walla Walla wines. We love the personal feeling of the winery when we take friends and visitors by to taste. We truly feel like a part of the Reininger family!"
